Introduction to Web Design
End of 9 weeks and Final Exam project.Creative Assignment – Visit this site: http://www.photoshopmosaic.com/Photoshop-tutorials/1 and review the tutorials. Some are printed and some are in video format. If you want to hear the videos you may need to bring your headphones. Please email me at loganelm@loganelm.net the link and title of the tutorial you select by Thursday, May 29. Level of difficulty will determine grade.

You will need to choose one of the tutorials to complete. Save the final project to your website along with the link to the tutorial. Also…..you will need to turn in on CD your final website with all links working. Remember to verify all files are on the CD before deleting anything from your H drive. If you do not have a CD, you may purchase one for $1.00. Label the CD with your first and last name.BE SURE TO TEST YOUR WEBPAGE FROM THE CD BEFORE DELETING FILES FROM YOUR H DRIVE!

Selective Coloring

Today in Intro to Web we learned the Photoshop technique of selective coloring.

Open a photograph to use for this technique
Click on the Create Adjustment Layer icon at the bottom of the layers palette. Choose Hue/Saturation option from the list.
Set the Saturation to -100
Select the Brush Tool - in the options bar and select the 35px round soft edge brush
Set your foreground color to black
Make sure you adjustment layer is active
Paint the area of the picture you colored

We have several teachers using blogs at LEHS to post their homework assignments and the need to notify parents came up during our parent teacher conferences. A solution we are going to test is www.feedmailer.net You sign up for a free account, enter the feeds you want sent to your email account and select the frequency. Let’s see if it works!

GeoShape Photoshop Activity

In this activity, you will copy images and “paste into” a geometric shape. Very easy and you will learn more about resizing images, cutting and pasting, using the magic wand tool. You can find the instructions instructions_geo.pdf and the sample geometric shape here.

Common Keyboard Shortcuts
CTRL A = Select All
CTRL C = Copy
CTRL D = Deselect

Both geoshapes are due on March 12, 2008.

Image Rollover in FP 2003

We have started working on our web pages using and many have got off to a great start. Your 5 page site is due on March 19, so plan ahead as next week we will be on delayed start with OGT testing. If you need extra lab time just request a pass!

Take a look at this tutorial on image rollovers, you must have at least one image rollover in your site.

Photoshop Elements Tutorials

Next Monday - Wednesday you will be completing a series of tutorials on Photoshop Elements. You should have copied the files from the L drive to your H drive that you will need for the activities. If you can’t find a image, you may download them here, be sure to select the image - right click - save file as to your H drive. I will be giving you a handout with the files you will need to save, if in doubt, save them all and we can sort through them when you turn them in.
