World History Project
I. Important Dates
Introduction – April 8th
Library Research Days- April 16, April 30, May 7, May 14, May 21.
World History Projects/Presentations begin – May 24th
Research Notes (summarize in your words!) and Sources (in bibliography format) due the day you present!
II. Research
Topic- You will select a standard from the ones provided and pick any specific (famous or infamous) historical person who lived during the time periods for 7th grade Social Studies (1000BC- 1700 A.D.), or a person with a general role/ occupation in society within the time frame. You can use your textbook chapters 2 through 18 to give you ideas.
Notes and Sources- You must have notes from at least 3 sources for your research, two must be books and only one of those can be an encyclopedia. You may have more sources. You must cite all of them.
Grading- 100pts = 50pts for your notes summarized in your words
50pts for bibliography.
III. World history Project-
You will become the character you have researched and you will be a
part of a group of 1 or 2 other students in your class.
Purpose- to educate and entertain others (in your project, you want to point out valuable contributions your person made in history).
Grading-
Costume- fitting your role, effort, creativity, accuracy = good grade!
(You do not have to spend money to fulfill this requirement)
25 pts.
Prop- fitting your role, effort, creativity, accuracy, not money spent = good grade
*no weapons stronger than cardboard!
25 pts.
Action- individually what you are doing in your group to:
educate (How did you teach us the standard you chose?) and entertain others.
50 pts.
You could:
A. perform a skit
B. present a powerpoint
C. write and perform a song
D. use tri-fold poster board to present facts
E. any other format that educates
* You may not just read to us!
