Climate change – Is it just a hoax or are we, as humans, causing a major warming of our atmosphere?

Climate change (aka Global warming) is in the news almost daily.  But, what exactly is climate change?  And, how is it affecting our planet?  These are questions that I want you to research and then come up with your own opinion on what is happening with our planet’s atmosphere.  Please keep this a scientific paper and support your opinion with scientific evidence.

For this paper you will need to do some research.  We will take one class period to go to the library and you may use any resource to help you find information about Climate Change.  After Christmas break, I will be showing you a documentary on Climate Change which you can also use as a source of information.

Once you have done your research, you will need to write a brief 5 paragraph paper voicing your opinion on Climate Change.

        1.  The first paragraph should be an introduction to your paper stating your opinion on the topic.

        2.  The second paragraph should state exactly what climate change is and what some of the possible causes are.  Also, this paragraph should contain examples of what is currently happening on our planet as a result of climate change. (ex. stronger hurricane seasons, glaciers melting, etc.)

        3.  The third paragraph should discuss what changes, if any, we need to make to prevent climate change from going further. (If you are taking the viewpoint that climate change is a normal cycle then provide evidence how often this occurs and why earth goes through cyclical heating and cooling periods.)

        4.  The fourth paragraph should discuss your opinion on the topic.

         5.  The fifth paragraph is a conclusion.

Requirements:

     1.  5 paragraphs of at least 4-5 sentences.

     2.  Typed (double spaced, size 12 font) or handwritten (black ink, skip every other line)

      3.  Front of paper only.
