Spirit Week

I was going to dress all mismatched today for “mis-match day” but realized that my wardrobe is so lame that I would look the same! I rely on a healthy dose of khakis and blue shirts. Crazy for me would have been wearing a black belt and two different shoes, but I have a bad arch in one of my feet so that wouldnt be good! I need to rebound for 80s day or celebrity day. The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown

The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown came out today!  Dan Brown, the author of Angels and Demons and The Da Vinci Code, writes a novel set in America’s capital of Washington DC.  Prof. Robert Langdon reappears as the main character of this story, which focuses on Masonic history in the United States.  We currently have one copy available in the Library Media Center at Logan Elm!!!! Come check it out!

I read a great book last week called Copper Sun! (by Sharon Draper)  It is a story about a young girl, Amari, from Africa in the early 17oo’s who is kidnapped and sold into slavery in the American Colonies.  Amari’s story, although fictional, represents the struggles that many went through as the slave trade flourished in the Colonies.  It is a great piece of historical fiction that will leave you thinking!  Come in the library and check it out!
