Welcome back to Mr. Hugus’ Woodshop Blog.  We have been very busy this quarter in the woodshop and now that OGTs are just about over we will be hitting it up hard again.

In Woods I, we are finishing the assembly of our hand tool projects by installing the pegs and hanging brakets on the back.  We will be painting, staining, and clear coating them starting next week.  We have finished the paper work for the first machine (Radial Arm Saw) of our clock projects as well.  We will begin discussing and using the Jointer early next week.

In Woods II, many students have completed their cutting boards/clip boards and are taking them home.  These should be done by the end of the third grade period.  Students should also be working on their own larger projects.

In Woods III & IV, many students are coming along nicely on their own projects.  We have produced some nice outdoor furniture, signs and shelves of all sizes and styles.

Mechanical Drawing:  We finished the Orthographic Projection Lessons last week and have moved into Isometric Drawing.  This section is shorter than the previous one and will end by Monday.  We will be moving into other pictorial views such as Obliques and Perspectives.

Zach Hoey made this maple corner shelf in Woods II, Fall 2007.  He hand turned all of the spindles on the lathe.
