Saturday at the 2013 OMEA State Marching Band Finals, the Marching Braves received a rating of “I” or Superior. In additional caption adjudication both the LE Percussion Section and Color Guard also received Superior Ratings earning ratings of “I” from every adjudicator. Logan Elm was one of only eight Class B bands in the state to earn Ohio’s highest rating; this is the Band of Pride’s eighth consecutive Superior rating at the state marching band finals.

At the Nelsonville-York Buckeye Classic the band received their 6th consecutive OMEA rating of “I” or Superior again placing first in Class B, earning the captions awards for Best Music and Most Outstanding Color Guard, and Superior ratings for both the Color Guard and Percussion section; no grand champion was crowned at the Buckeye Classic.

At the Bloom Carroll Classic the Bank of Pride received their 5th consecutive OMEA rating of “I” or Superior placing first in Class B, earning the caption awards for Best Music and Most Outstanding Color Guard, Superior ratings for both the Color Guard and Percussion sections, and was crowned Class B/C Grand Champion.

At the Maysville competition, the Marching Braves earned their 4th consecutive OMEA Superior rating and 2nd unanimous Superior rating this year being named Class B / C Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Overall. The Band of Pride placed first in Class B and the Logan Elm Percussion Section, duplicating their record high score from the morning performance, was once again named Most Outstanding Percussion Section. Congratulations on a GREAT job and a great day of making music.

At the Buckeye Classic, the Band of Pride received their 3rd consecutive OMEA rating of “I” or Superior earning Superior ratings from every adjudicator as well as captions awards for the Most Outstanding Color Guard and Most Outstanding Percussion Section setting a new school record for the highest score ever for a Logan Elm Drumline.

The band finished second in Class B receiving the award for Most Outstanding Music on their way to receiving an Ohio Music Education Association rating of “I” or Superior qualifying them to perform at the 2013 OMEA State Marching Band Finals in early November.
