Scheduling Information and Materials for 2008-2009
Thank you for taking the
time to read this letter and to work through the
scheduling process. Scheduling is perhaps one of the most important
tasks for
any high school student.
This booklet had
been prepared to help you make wise decisions when
scheduling. Universities and employers continue to tell us that we need
to have
a more rigorous curriculum for our students. The university
scholarships,
Pickaway Ross Career Technology Center selection and job opportunities
all
hinge upon the course work selected. Please consider these important
factors
when selecting classes.
As you read through this scheduling
booklet, please
note course offerings as well
as graduation requirements found in the beginning of this booklet.
Also, students headed to college and concerned about ACT and SAT scores,
remember that the greatest measure of success on these tests continues
to be if
the students had followed the most rigorous high school curriculum
available. In
other words, take the challenging academic courses; it literally "pays"
intellectually and financially.
For those of you planning to attend Pickaway Ross Career Technology
Center,
you will want to select courses to help you become an attractive
candidate for the
program of your choice.
Logan Elm High School wants to help you be competitive in whatever path
you
choose after high school. Taking some time to review your course
selections
and following a structured educational plan will provide you with many
options in
the future.
Respectfully,
Sally Kleon
Principal
